Night Paving...
We started night paving last night, and Truck Mom was on duty at the hot plant... it was a great first night. Jeff and I just got home from the start of the second night... and again it looks promising! I'm tired. New pictures soon...

FBLA Reunion Pictures
Here are the links to reunion pictures. The reunion was amazing... it really was about reconnecting with old friends... and being real. I'm so glad we went. What an amazing summer. If you have Picasa, you can download the entire album to your own computer and get pictures printed. Here are the links:

Richard in a wheelchair...
Not the best picture... but this is my baby brother, Richard, in a wheelchair! He jumped off a wishing well in a playground and got a spiral fracture in his leg... AND got to be in a wheelchair. I was SO jealous (boy was that dumb). Anyway, I think this was in 1969 only because it is with the other pictures I had from that year... poor baby!

Quail Babies...Itty-Bitty Quail Babies!
Leaving for work yesterday (later than normal) I pulled out of the driveway and this quail family was crossing the road. Are those babies cute OR WHAT??? The smoke this morning is HORRIBLE... back to 1/4 mile visibility.

Happy 39th Birthday Wendy!
We went back out to Lake Mendocino to celebrate Wendy's 39th birthday after work! Sorry the picture's blurry... the sun was almost gone and this is the best one! This girl is CRAZY... and so much fun to work with and hang out with.

115 in the SHADE!
When I left work, my thermometer first said 115 (and I was parked completely in the shade with my windows open). After I drove for a moment it occured to me to take a picture... thus the 113! After driving home it got all the way 'down' to 108 (at 5:55 p.m.). UGGHHH! Thank you God for air conditioning and the ability to pay the bill to use it! Had to water the tomato plants and flowers today... they were definitely in need... the smoke is getting bad again... poor firefighters. Bye for now!
A Blue Heron in our "Turkey Tree"
We got home yesterday afternoon, parked the car and looked up to see a blue heron! What a shock! Many of you have seen this tree accross the street... during the winter months the wild turkeys fly up and seem to play "king of the hill" to be on the highest branches! It was fun watching the blue heron... and we tried to get it to do something exciting... to no avail.

July 4th Staycation at Lake Mendocino
Lake Mendocino at 7:32 a.m ...
The view from up on the hill...
Jeff on his first jet ski ride!
We arrived at 7:30 a.m. and left at 6:45 p.m. The lake is only one mile from our house, although we spent the day down at the south boat ramp which is about seven miles by car. It was a beautiful day, with much less smoke in the air. We were right on the beach and Ron and Wendy brought their boat and jet ski... what a blast. Alison and Chelsea were also there for the day. The entire Skidmore Clan came down around lunch time with their myriad of jet skiis... and boy was it fun! They're usually the ones with a motor home on the beach, so it was fun saving them a spot by our baby motor home. Jeff road a jet ski for the first time ever... and had lots of fun. I rode for the first time in several years... and much to my surprise did NOT have neck issues... just lower back pain. It wasn't any worse than a long day driving or shopping... YAHOO! We also went out in the boat... FUN! FUN! FUN! Happy 4th a day late to all of you!
Roxi... the dog from up the hill!
This is our up-the-hill neighbor's dog, Roxi. She is confused, and thinks she lives at our house. This half barrel was planted with pretty flowers last year... until Roxi decided it made a perfect bed... dug up the flowers, and hopped in! She is such a sweet dog, and keeps Dopey company. Her nighttime bark is crazy... her hound dog roots come out LOUD and clear.
Eileen and I the day after...
We enjoyed a nice luncheon at Fat's Restaurant in Folsom the day after the wedding. This is the only picture of the two of us, because my camera got weird during the reception. My brother popped my bubble about being a good photographer... he said ANYONE could take a fabulous picture... if they shoot enough shots! Boo... Hiss... the picture of Jen and Evan was the ONLY one I took. So there.

Newlyweds Evan and Jen!
Congratulations to Evan and Jen... it was a spectacular wedding and an amazing party! Bill and Eileen throw a great party! I was blessed to be a part of such a special weekend. I took this picture at the reception... and think these two are rather photogenic! It would be fun to be a 'real' photographer. Maybe when I grow up...
Andy and Alex
Had breakfast with Andy and Alex last Saturday... notice the heighth difference!!! Alex is now a Senior in high school... how time flies!
Smoke gets in your eyes...
Here is a "smoke" picture to try and give you an idea of the dense smoke... it is crazy. This picture is from the other day... it's a bit better now, although compared to our normal clean air it's HORRIBLE! This picture was on Tollini Lane in Ukiah.
