Pelicans... AMAZING Pelicans...
Just north of the little town of Westport on 101, we parked at the top of a bluff to enjoy the view ... and soon notice the PELICANS flying and dive-bombing back and forth right beneath us! It was so beautiful... and I had so much fun taking pictures. The pictures below are my favorites out of around 20 shots. I did NOT crop before posting... these were done by zooming in and getting lucky! I thought about videotaping and freeze framing later, but what would the challenge be in that? We spent a GLORIOUS day along the coast... the sun was intense and it was around 65 degrees... perfect weather!

Loren visits Grass Valley...
My cousin Loren came for his annual visit to Mom's in Grass Valley. It was a nice weekend... The pictures are of Mom at Sunday Morning Brunch at Barry and Karen's house (yummy, yummy, brunch); Mom's front yard (thanks to neighbor Richard); Loren with "Duke" the HUGE draft horse at the fairgrounds; and Karen & Barry at the fairgrounds. I drove home Monday morning (EARLY) and was at work at 7:00 a.m. Later that day I drove over to Fort Bragg to camp with Jeff at Mackericher (sp?) State Park.

Janet, her fish, and her rock band...
I had the pleasure of spending most of a day with Janet... what fun! I hadn't been in Davis for ~gasp~ almost 30 years! We had breakfast at an amazing crepe restaurant and found a great thrift shop... thanks for getting up early for me, Janet! I tried to make this lettering match the color of Janet's tissue walls... the pictures make it look more purple than magenta... oh well.

Yosemite in September
Half Dome... the site of Greg's Senior Project... AMAZING! Red, Jeff, Carolyn, Ping, Cara, and I drove up to Glacier Point for the awesome views as far as the eyes could see... well worth the time to get there.
Jeff and Red with Half Dome in the distance...
This chipmunk was in the Crane Flat Campground where we stayed for four nights... so cute!

Sabrina and her Family come for a visit...
Oh, man, this adorable baby girl LOVED me... and it was so much fun. This is Sabrina, Noel and Carrie's youngest daughter. Samantha and Soraya were also visiting this weekend. We went to Fort Bragg and picked berries (and got locked in behind a gate that was NOT locked when we went in); went to the beach where we got BLOWN to bits by a very strong wind; drove home on Orr Springs Road and stopped in Montgomery Woods; bar-b-qued hot dogs in our back yard; and went to the races and fireworks at the Ukiah Speedway! Oh... this was all done on Sunday! Whew... today I am resting!
