I have figured out how to blog from my phone! Well, at least I can post pictures! Can't seem to type yet. Soon. Notice the plug prong is completely burn off? We do not know when this happened... we DO KNOW we are very grateful to have a home! YIKES! Kathy helped me deep clean... sure is fun having help! Jeff LOVED the surprise, needless to say!
Some years ago my refrigerator was misbehaving - and the plug and surrounding area were quite similar to yours. This was in my mobile home and not a good place to have a fire. It seems the wiring used throughout is now illegal wiring. Loren was visiting and was rather amazed!

Wow, very heavy duty static electricity.
I'll be glad to replace the outlet next time I'm up thar.
